The 2026 ICC Arbitration Rules are now in force

2026 ICC Rules of Arbitration officially entered into force on 1 June 2026. 

They introduce targeted updates to improve efficiency, transparency and responsiveness to evolving user needs.

They reflect extensive input from the global disputes and business communities, including consultations with businesses, arbitrators, lawyers, and state representatives. 

The revision process was shaped based on the experience of the ICC Court and ICC Secretariat managing over 30,000 cases, and a global consultation involving 1,400 Delegates from over 90 countries through the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR. 

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our Swiss delegates in the ICC Arbitration Commission, who played a very active role in the revision.
